Hundreds flock to rescheduled Honeybee Festival

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- Hundreds of residents flocked to the annual Honeybee Festival held Saturday at Honeybee Park in Robertsdale.

The event was postponed from October because of the threat of a tropical storm, but sunny skies and unseasonably warm weather in December brought out the crowds to the annual event, which is presented by the Central Baldwin Education Foundation.

The event kicked off with the annual Honeybee 5K run followed by the festival, which included entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors, a Kids Zone with games and bounce houses, and of course beekeepers and a demonstration booth by the Baldwin County Beekeepers Association.

Several booths featuring local schools were also present at the festival along with the Gulf Coast Jeep Show.
