Douglas selected FHS Teacher of the Year

FOLEY - The Foley High School faculty has selected Senior Aerospace Science teacher, Colonel Scherry Douglas, as their 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year.

Colonel Scherry E. Douglas is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) with the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC), as of 2015. She is a 30-year retired Air Force officer and a 23-year federal law enforcement veteran, where she worked with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Colonel Douglas is a 1983 distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) at Alabama State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Additionally, she earned a Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.

Headquarters AF JROTC recognized Colonel Douglas as an "Outstanding Instructor of the Year 2016" and Foley ROTC was designated a "Distinguished Unit with Merit 2016."
