Baldwin County Program helps seniors prepare for storm

As hurricane season heads into its typical peak in September, everyone should be prepared in case of the need to evacuate. Baldwin County Council on Aging has a resource for seniors to do so.

The Seniors Essentials Emergency Kit, or the SEEK Program, is offered by the agency to help prepare seniors in Baldwin County who will be evacuating to a shelter or staying home in the event of a hurricane or other imminent weather.

If you or a loved one will be evacuating, are or is homebound or will be staying home during a storm, call the the agency at (251) 972-8506 for more information about the SEEK Program kit.

All participants in the SEEK Program will be notified prior to an impending disaster/emergency to make certain their plan is in place and all necessary supplies are in their kits; including medications.

SEEK bag contents:

  • Packet containing personal information
  • Emergency contacts
  • Current list of medications
  • Medical history
  • Medical conditions and any specific needs
  • Compact shoulder bag
  • Solar thermal blanket
  • Metal whistle
  • Antiseptic wipes
  • I.D. wristbands
