DAPHNE, Ala. - The Bayshore Christian Eagles took an early lead and expanded to hold a 13-2 advantage. But the St. Michael Cardinals rallied down the stretch for eight runs before the Eagles got the final out for the win at Al Trione Park in Daphne Monday night. The Cardinals left 11 runners on base while the Eagles stranded just six.
Ava Wilkinson got the complete-game win in the circle for the Eagles with 12 strike outs and five scattered walks over seven innings. At the plate, she helped herself and the team with three hits in four at bats, drove in two runs and scored twice. Teammate K. Lochridge also had two RBIs with an RBI each by C. Finnamore, Kate Gentry, Camille O’Neil, L. Weatherford and Olivia Zakutney.
The Cardinals’ offensive leaders were Emma Buss (three hits and two RBIs), Lily Roach (three hits and two RBIs) and Brooke Kinard (two hits, two RBIs).
The Eagles play for home-field playoff advantage Friday night (March 19) when they host Fruitdale at Loxley Park.
