The Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society's annual Buddy Walk has fun additions and a new home for the 2023 event.

This year's revamped Buddy Walk will take over Loxley Municipal Park Saturday, Oct. 21. The theme for the 2023 Buddy Walk is "Kindness is Out of This World," a space theme reflected in the T-shirt design submitted by the Exceptional Foundation.

As the event enters its 11th year organizers hope those in attendance enjoy the revamped event. This year, participants will enjoy four bounce houses, two inflatable games, lawn games, a caricature artist, a petting zoo, face painting, silent auction, gaming trailer and more.

The Buddy Walk is the largest fundraiser for the Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society (CADSS), which serves individuals with Down syndrome and their families in Baldwin and Mobile counties. The CADSS raises awareness of the inclusion and abilities of people with Down syndrome. Funds raised through fundraisers like the Buddy Walk are used to host events for Down syndrome individuals and their families to bond and support one another as well as have fun.

The Buddy Walk is a fun morning for the whole family. Sign up to participate in the walk and enjoy the activities. Join a team, form a team or walk as an individual. Volunteer opportunities and sponsorship opportunities are available. Help the Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society reach its fundraising goal of $75,000.
