Colton Sullivan, a recent Elberta High School graduate and Montevallo wrestling signee, earned some more hardware from the final matches of his high school career at last weekend’s Alabama State Games.
Sullivan added two gold medals from the state games to the trophy case that had some additions from this past winter. After Sullivan became the first Elberta wrestler to place at the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s state tournament with a bronze medal in the 145-pound division, he took home the school’s wrestler of the year award.
His focus now shifts to the college ranks where he’ll be part of Montevallo’s inaugural wrestling team for the 2023-2024 winter season. Sullivan will be joined in representing Baldwin County on the Falcons’ first squad alongside Orange Beach’s Shayd Arboneaux who also earned a podium finish at the state championships with a silver medal in the 132-pound division.
