The Town of Elberta celebrated Mardi Gras 2021 on Saturday, Feb. 13. Participants both local and from out of county rolled out that afternoon to throw candy, moon pies and beads to those lining the streets. The parade route was extended this year to allow for easier turns for larger floats and to encourage more social distancing between those who attended. Those in attendance were also asked to remain by their parked vehicle in an effort to keep people separated for safety concerns.
The next event in Elberta will be Arbor Day, celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 27. Stop by the town park to receive your free tree between 9 a.m. to noon.
