Emma Devine Wilson, 92 of Loxley Alabama, passed on Nov. 12, 2023, with her family lovingly by her side. Emma was born in 1931 in Loxley. She met her husband, Willie Wilson, there and they married in 1947. Emma and Willie had one daughter, Susan, who passed away in 1951.

Emma followed Willie for an adventurous 20 plus years, as he served in the US Air Force. They lived in many places including Japan, Washington, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas, before Willie retired, and they moved back home to Loxley in 1972.

Emma was employed for over 20 years with Vanity Fair in Robertsdale, where she was honored several times for her exemplary work. After retiring, Emma spent her time with Willie, their families, and crocheting. She was a remarkable crocheter and her creations were admired by many. Emma was generous in gifting her masterpieces to friends, loved ones, and sometimes near strangers. Emma was also a longtime member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Robertsdale.

Emma was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Annie Devine, her husband Willie, her daughter Susan, her sister Mildred, her brothers Robert (Peanut) and Carl.

Emma is survived by her sister Thelma Agerton, ten nieces and their husbands along with their children and five nephews and their families. She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law and their families, several cousins, and some very dear neighbors.  Emma was loved by many who considered her a surrogate mother and grandmother.

Emma was a fun loving, affectionate, compassionate, and courageous woman. She could be passionate and frank in her opinions, which kept things interesting and ultimately led to her charm. Emma was loved by all her family and friends, and she will be missed deeply.

Visitation was at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale on Wed., Nov. 15, 2023, from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services were held at St Patrick’s Church in Robertsdale on Thur., Nov. 16, 2023, at 10 AM, followed by internment at Belforest Catholic Cemetery on County Road 64 in Daphne. Immediately following, a Celebration of Life reception was held at her niece’s home in Spanish Fort.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Patrick’s.
