The Fly High Goose Foundation, a local nonprofit, announced a new scholarship program that will award $10,000 to students pursuing training in a career technical field.
According to a Jan. 15 press release, the organization will award four $2,500 scholarships to current high school seniors within Baldwin County who will be seeking post-secondary training in automotive technology, marine technology, aviation, industrial maintenance, instrumentation, process technology, utility lineman, welding, building construction or HVAC (heating and cooling.)
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be a current high school senior, reside in Baldwin County and seeking an education in the career technical field.
Interested students can apply through their high school's career coach, and applications are due by April 5. For more information, visit flyhighgoose.com or call 251-490-9260.

About the organization
The Fly High Goose foundation was started to honor the life of Goose Johnson, a Baldwin County resident who died in a car accident in January 2019. Only a few months shy of his college graduation, Johnson was passionate about the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing.
The organization began as a way to keep Johnson's legacy alive by giving back to the community and inspiring and enriching the lives of local youth who share Johnson's love for the outdoors.
