This fall, Foam Coffee is expanding beyond the storefront, bringing their food truck to the fields of the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

The Gulf Shores staple will serve a limited menu at select Gulf Shores High School home football games as a part of the school's venture into offering food trucks in addition to normal concessions.

"We were asked by the high school to do some of the football games. It's the first year they have done anything like this," said owner Saidy Troha. "I graduated from Gulf Shores, so it was a no-brainer for us."

Troha said the coffee shop first served at the Sept. 15 game and plans to serve at a few more before the season ends.

"We picked the games we wanted to do, and the next one will be on Oct. 20," Troha said.

Troha said the truck will serve a limited drink menu but no food items.

"We will have different seasonal iced coffee and hot coffee, and every week we will change it up. I'm sure pumpkin spice will be thrown in there, too, at some point," Troha laughed. "At the last game, our most popular drink was the special we have going on in store; a salted caramel cold brew with pumpkin cold foam."

Troha said that in addition to the Foam Coffee truck, there will be a couple other food trucks that rotate weekly.

"We thought we would mostly be catering to parents, but we were surprised by a lot of our regulars who never go to the games but came because we were there and stayed to watch the game," Troha said. "I think this could be a great addition to future games.

"It was a lot of fun, and the team is looking good this year. It was nostalgic for me since I went to school there, seeing people I haven't seen in a while. It's something different for us. We don't usually do nighttime local events, but it was a great opportunity to connect with the community and see some familiar faces."
