Foley Police respond to stabbing incident, suspect apprehended

The Foley Police Department arrested a man after a stabbing incident was reported on Friday evening.

Officers responded to a call at approximately 9 p.m. on March 22, in the 300 block of W. Myrtle Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered Carlos Lopez Martinez with a stab wound to his abdomen in front of a residence. Martinez was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he remains in critical condition.

Martinez provided detectives and medical personnel with the name of the suspect, Miguel Roque Castillo, 22 of Guatemala.

Castillo was arrested on March 23. He is accused of stabbing Martinez following an argument. According to authorities, Martinez and Castillo were acquainted prior to the incident.

Castillo is currently facing charges of assault in the first degree, a felony offense. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending as authorities continue their inquiries.
