Gulf Coast shines bright: 11 Christmas light displays to spark holiday magic

Thanksgiving will soon be in the rearview mirror, which means for many that it is time to deck the halls.

If you need a little help getting into the holiday spirit, maybe a drive- or walk-thru Christmas light display will help.

Our list of Christmas light displays spans the Gulf Coast from Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore to Sowell's North Pole in Milton, Florida. The displays are magical and make for a treasured family tradition. This is likely not a complete list, so feel free to send us anything we should add to melanie@gulfcoastmedia.com.

DRIVE-THRU

Downtown Fairhope

Nov. 17 through Mardi Gras from dusk to dawn. Take a drive or stroll through downtown Fairhope and enjoy the idyllic scene. Free.

Christmas Nights in Lights

Mobile International Speedway, 7800 Park Blvd., Mobile – Take a slow spin around the Mobile International Speedway and take in a holiday light display to remember. Over 1 million lights and holiday displays synchronized to holiday classics will entertain the entire family. Tickets must be booked in advance. Visit www.nightsinlights.com. Times slots vary beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 17 through Jan. 1, 2024. Prices vary based on the number of people in the car.

RiFFmas Lights 

750 Bear Creek Cove, Gulf Shores – Drive by the Logan home and take in the 39,000 lights synchronized to music from Thanksgiving day through New Year's Day. Times vary but typically run from 5 to 10 p.m. For more information and to check times, join the Riffsmas Lights Facebook group or visit www.riffmaslights.com. Free.

Sowell's North Pole Christmas Light Display

7650 Sowell Road, Milton, Florida – Runs Nov. 25 through Dec. 25 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Take in the award-winning display of over 1 million lights. Tickets are $15 per car. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.sowellfarms.com.

Holiday Lights Drive-Thru at Bicentennial Park

51233 State Highway 225, Stockton – Runs Nov. 28 through Dec. 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. Free.

Sehoy Christmas Inflatable

Sehoy is located off County Road 13 in Daphne – Each year giant inflatables take over the neighborhood around Dec. 1 through Dec. 25 from 5 until 9 p.m. (pending weather). For information and announcements, visit the Eastern Shore Inflatables Facebook page. Free.

WALK-THRU

"Magic Christmas in Lights" at Bellingrath Gardens

12401 Bellingrath Gardens Road, Theodore – Runs Nov. 24-Jan. 3. Bellingrath Gardens is open from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $17 for adults and $11 for children. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.bellingrath.org.

The Artic Express at Wales West

13670 Smiley St., Silverhill – Runs on select days Nov. 24-Dec. 24 from 4 to 9 p.m. General admission tickets are $25. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.waleswest.com.

Holiday SPECTRA Laser Light Experience

Christmas Trail at Graham Creek Nature Preserve
