It is time for the locals to take back the beach.

The summer season has come to a close, the children are back in school, and football is right around the corner. All that means the Sunset Series returns to Gulf Place Sept. 7.

The City of Gulf Shores announced the 2023 lineup for its annual Sunset Series. These free concerts take place on the Town Green at Gulf Place, 101 Gulf Shores Pkwy, from 6-8 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, family and friends and enjoy an evening of music at the beach.

"We are excited to continue our Sunset Series," said Grant Brown, City of Gulf Shores recreation and cultural affairs director. "Our city has put so much effort into making Gulf Place Public Beach a beautiful and relaxing spot for our residents and guests. We are excited to mix that beauty with free entertainment for everyone to enjoy."

The 2023 Sunset Series lineup:

Sept. 7 – Flow Tribe
New Orleans-based Flow Tribe comes at you with the delicacy of a sledgehammer. They create "backbone cracking music," a soul-shaking mixture of styles and sounds that will drive you wild. The six band members have shared the stage with the likes of Trombone Shorty, Juvenile and Bill Summers.

Sept. 14 – The Powell Brothers
Over the past seven years, the Powell Brothers have performed 150 shows across 25 states annually. They have become synonymous with sports. From pregame concerts for the Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, Dallas Cowboys, NHL Draft, LSU Tigers and Las Vegas Bowl to singing the national anthem, they love to combine their passions for music and sports.

Sept. 21 – Devon Worley Band
Crowds roar during their rousing live gigs at country music festivals across the U.S., and in the U.K. fans inside packed rock clubs stomp their approval for an incendiary set that combusts with memorable original songs.

Sept. 28 – Frank Brown Songwriters Showcase
The Songwriters Showcase serves as a preview to the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival. The night will kick off with Sugarcane Jane and will be followed by Evan Stevens and Mike Loudermilk.

Don't feel like packing a picnic? Food trucks will be set up for those wishing to purchase food, and the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber will be selling beverages for all ages to enjoy.
