Ida Nancy Sawyer Nolte, age 91, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, passed away peacefully at her home, Mon., Nov. 13, 2023. Ida was a faithful member of Barnwell Baptist Church, and served diligently in many roles in the church, over the years, including church hostess, treasurer and she taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved the art of cooking and running her household. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, George Nolte; mother and father, Ida B. Lindstrom and Axel Lindstrom; sisters Theresa Conway and Esther Gruber. Mrs. Ida is survived by her five children, Judy Nolte, Mackey (Diane) Nolte, John (Robbin) Nolte, Cindy (Mike) Comalander, Kim (Donna) Nolte, nine grandchildren, Kevin (Christina) Nolte, Christen (Rafael) Ordonez, Jennifer (Sarah) Nolte, Shane (Jennifer) Nolte, Brian (Melissa) Nolte, Melanie (Jamie) Booker, Brittany (BJ) Vaughn, Ashley (Sam) Fields, Mackenzie Nolte; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thurs., Nov. 16, 2023, at 10:00am, in Brook-Cedron Cemetery, Fairhope, Alabama.
