Marilyn Mannhard, a Baldwin County Master Gardener, shared her expertise on container gardening during a recent program held for members and guests of the Robertsdale Garden Club.

Drawing from her extensive background as an educator, Mannhard delivered a presentation that was both comprehensible and engaging for the audience. Mannhard highlighted several key points, emphasizing the use of a 15-gallon container with proper drainage, natural mulch, Miracle-Gro fertilizers, sterilized pots and the benefits of using cages. She provided insights into the optimal vegetables for local growth, along with planting schedules and techniques.

Following Mannhard's presentation and the conclusion of club business, attendees enjoyed various games and a salad lunch. Among the activities was a game challenging participants to match baby pictures with their respective club members and guests. Madeline Fernandes orchestrated the luncheon arrangements, incorporating festive Valentine's Day decorations and generously providing gifts for all attendees.

The Robertsdale Garden Club's next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at the PZK Hall. Hostess duties for the upcoming gathering will be handled by Pat Weber, with Baldwin County Master Gardener Wanda Martin slated to present on hydrangeas. Guests are warmly encouraged to attend.
