Orange Beach logged 61 spring break related arrests during its 2024 season, according to a press release via Investigative Division Lt. Trent Johnson.

 

The police department noted that these numbers are "strictly spring break related in some shape, form or fashion" and do not reflect other arrests made during the same time frame without correlation. Of the 61 reported arrests in 2024, 48 were due to minor in possession charges, with the other 13 falling under public intoxication (4), DUI (3), drug offenses (5) and a combination of drug and alcohol charges (1). The 2024 arrest total is merely one-third of its mark a year ago, which reported 183 total arrests. 

 

In comparison, 2023's spring break produced 171 minor in possession charges, four drug arrests, two arrests on a combination of drug and alcohol charges, one DUI and one theft offense.
