Rain or shine the Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival will fill Foley with fun

Gulf Coast Media received an email this week from a forward planning reader looking forward to the festival. The question was simple: Will the Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival happen Saturday, Jan. 27 if it rains?

Mike Yeater, co-owner and producer of the festival, responded quickly to our inquiry and we wanted to make sure all our readers were informed.

“This is a rain or shine event,” Yeater said. “We are monitoring the weather and it appears that most of the day will be very nice. We do have tents in place and areas of shelter if there is some morning rain.”

Check the hour by hour forecast before you leave home and check the event’s Facebook page for any last-minute changes.

The Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival is Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Heritage Park in Foley.
