Registration for the 13th-Annual National Peer Program Conference is now open. The beautiful white-sand beaches of the Alabama Gulf Coast will once again serve as a backdrop for this year's conference at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach.

ThriveWay and the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation co-host this opportunity for more than 700 educators, counselors, Peer Helper Coordinators, school administrators and youth mental health professionals to join together to collaborate on ways to transform the youth of their communities using the Peer Helper PLUS program. They'll gain insight through interactive workshops, keynote speakers and breakout sessions focused on effective strategies and emerging trends in peer programming. It's an opportunity for participants to collaborate with peers and industry leaders from throughout the nation and build relationships.

This year's conference will be kicked off with Kwame Johnson as the keynote speaker. Johnson's inspiring story of going from being incarcerated while in high school to being the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the largest and most effective youth mentoring agency in the state of Georgia, is sure to inspire everyone. Kwame is highly distinguished and has received national recognition for his work including the Social Entrepreneur Program of the Year Award from the Manhattan Institute.

What is the Peer Helper PLUS program?

It is a comprehensive prevention and support program that works with schools around the country to promote the mental health of our youth and teaches them to advocate for one another.

Peer Helper PLUS has been proven to help students improve grades, cope with tragedy, decide against suicide and better connect with classmates oftentimes for the first time. Administrators have said the program is helpful in recognizing unsafe situations in students' home lives as well.
