The Orange Beach Garden Club is prepping for its 36th-annual Game Day and Salad Luncheon. This year's event is Feb. 21 at the Orange Beach Event Center. This year's theme is Butterfly Gardens.

The morning of fun and fellowship is one of the anticipated events of the year and an important fundraiser for the club. Proceeds benefit club projects like Arbor Day, scholarships for graduating students, the Butterfly Garden on Hugh Branyon Trail, Light Up Orange Beach Christmas decorating contest and other community projects.

WHAT IS GAME DAY?

While the name of the event is Game Day and Salad Luncheon, it is the luncheon that is the highlight. Attendees will have a chance to enjoy nearly 50 homemade salads, including the event's favorite chicken salad, and a wide variety of homemade desserts and cookies.

Bring your game face for a friendly exchange of wits at bridge, gin, Scrabble, dominoes and more. Participants are encouraged to put together a group, but for those without a group there are opportunities to pull up a chair and join an ongoing game.

The gaming is included in the price of admission, but guests are not required to play a game.

Tickets for the event are $35 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the Orange Beach Senior Adult Center on Canal Road and The Emporium in the Orange Beach Rouses shopping center. Raffle tickets will be sold at the door for a chance to win one of 12 gift baskets.
