Seven area churches will bring the Nativity to life along the Mobile Bay this weekend.

The drive-through Nativity is a one-night event, Sunday, Dec. 3, from 5-7 p.m. on Duck Pond Road near Fairhope Pier. The participating churches will bring eight scenes to life. Passersby will be led through eight scenes leading to the birth of Jesus.

"This is the seventh year for the drive-through Nativity, and it's the second year that so many churches have been involved," event coordinator Lisa Dahle said in a statement. "It was Mrs. Vernon (Sally) Hunter's idea to do this back in 2016."

The live Nativity will feature camels, donkeys, goats, sheep and llamas. The participating actors are parishioners from Trinity, St. Francis at the Point Anglican, Fairhope United Methodist, Church of the Apostles, Fairhope Christina Church, Jubilee Shores United Methodist Church and St. James Episcopal Church.

The drive-through Nativity will also offer caroling by Path to Peace Choir and refreshments provided by St. Francis Church. The event is free of charge, but donations will be accepted.
