If you are trying to find a fun event happening this weekend you are in luck.

The events happening across the Alabama Gulf Coast this weekend vary from authors and boats to orchids and oysters. Start your weekend listening to award-winning author Roy Hoffman at the Fairhope Public Library. If you have summer on your mind head to Mobile and find your dream boat and new gear. With spring around the corner, gardeners will enjoy the orchid show in Mobile or the Coastal Garden Festival in Foley. If you love oysters, then make a beeline for the Fort Morgan Oyster Fest at The Beach Club in Gulf Shores.

Fairhope Public Library Evening Literary Series

  • What: Award-winning author and Fairhope resident Roy Hoffman is the featured speaker in the Evening Literary Series. The topic Hoffman will speak on is: “Where Stories Come From: Writers and Their Inspirations.” Hoffman is the author of six books including “The Promise of the Pelican.” For more information on Hoffman and his work, visit www.royhoffmanwriter.com.

Mobile Boat Show

45th Annual Orchid Society Show

  • What: Enjoy the world of orchids at the Mobile Area Orchid Society’s annual show and orchid sale. In its 45th year, the judged show, exhibit and sale showcases hundreds of orchids. 2024 Gator Chase

Fort Morgan Oyster Festival

  • What: Spend a day enjoying all-you-can-eat oysters from local waters and grown by local experts. The day isn’t just about eating and drinking. The festival will have live music, local artisans, a corn hole tournament and fun activities to keep the children entertained.
