Baldwin County 9-1-1 and Geo-Comm, Inc. unite to elevate Next Gen 9-1-1 address data

Always looking to revolutionize emergency response, Baldwin County 9-1-1 has unveiled a cutting-edge initiative to validate addresses, ensuring precision in dispatch services and advancing public safety measures in a groundbreaking collaboration.

Baldwin County 9-1-1, based in Robertsdale, announced a strategic partnership with Geo-Comm, Inc., headquartered in Saint Cloud, Minnesota in a news statement on Jan. 8. The collaboration is geared towards validating address information to enhance functionality within the 9-1-1 dispatch center. This initiative aligns with the objectives of achieving Next Generation 9-1-1 readiness, both locally and at the state level. The joint effort aims to significantly improve the accuracy of countywide addressing data, with a primary focus on reinforcing public safety measures.

The project officially commenced on Nov. 13, 2023, and will continue with extensive field verification scheduled to run through April 2024. During the week of Jan. 14-21, a Geo-Comm Field Technician will be on-site, concentrating efforts on verifying addresses in the northern section of the county, north of Interstate 10, and along the coastline.

The Geo-Comm Field Technician's vehicle will be easily identifiable, featuring the Geo-Comm logo and the technician in official Geo-Comm attire. It is essential to note that Field Technicians will solely confirm the location of structures and house numbers, without engaging with residents or approaching structures directly.

In the event of a Geo-Comm Technician's vehicle on your property, it is most likely for the purpose of verifying your house number according to the release. Residents are encouraged to visibly display house numbers for improved accuracy.

For inquiries or concerns related to the ongoing project, residents and businesses are encouraged to contact Baldwin County 9-1-1 through the provided channels. To reach out via email, individuals may contact addressing@baldwin911.org. Alternatively, inquiries can be made through the telephone by calling 251-947-3911 and selecting option 1.
