FAIRHOPE — Shoppers in Fairhope got their first glimpse of the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter during a re-grand opening held May 12.

The new design and layout aims to provide a better shopping experience for customers. According to a news release, this supercenter includes new signage, fixtures, LED lighting and flooring, refreshed interior and exterior, improved bathrooms, a mother’s room for nursing, additional self-checkout lanes and grab-n-go coolers at the front of the store.

“Baldwin County is growing every day. The remodel of this store just proves Walmart’s commitment to serving the Fairhope community,” said store manager Candy Manuel in the news release.

The transformation will allow customers to have a better experience while shopping in-store. Displays are featured at the corners of certain departments to allow customers to become a part of the space. Elevated departments will include displays that showcase products outside of their boxes. There will also be more space within the store and touchpoints that feature QR codes are placed throughout the store.

To mark the occasion, store associates held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a community celebration and community-inspired mural unveiling by local artist Lindsey Fourt. The store manager will present $8,200 in grants to local nonprofit organizations such as Prodisee Pantry, Coastal Alabama Community College and Baldwin County Humane Society to reinforce Walmart’s dedication to the community.
