Optimist Club of Perdido Bay celebrates Elberta educators

The Optimist Club of Perdido Bay extended its commendations to the Teachers of the Year from Elberta Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Stacey Tatum, Kasey Guimarin and Cody Hall were recognized for their exemplary contributions to education and their impact on the lives of students.

Stacey Tatum, a third-grade teacher at Elberta Elementary School, boasts a Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University. With a diverse skill set, she is certified in various education programs and has previously shared her expertise teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in China. She and her husband, Jason, have two sons, Steven and Daniel.

Kasey Guimarin, honored for her work as a reading intervention teacher at Elberta Middle School, holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of West Alabama. Guimarin's journey in education includes roles as a sixth-grade teacher and a media specialist in Georgia before making a significant impact in Baldwin County. She and her husband, Mark, have two sons, Noah and Luke and a daughter Lillie.

Cody Hall, the AP US History teacher at Elberta High School, holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of West Alabama. Hall's prowess in guiding students has led them to surpass the state and national average in the AP exam. He and his wife, Taylor have a five-month-old daughter, Heather.

Optimist of Perdido Bay President Dodd Bouchillon expressed gratitude for the educators' dedication and commitment to their students, schools, and community.

“Through dedication and commitment to their students, schools and community, they are actively making our world a better place one student at a time,” said Optimist of Perdido Bay President Dodd Bouchillon. “We are grateful for their service and honored to recognize them for their well-deserved achievement.”

The Optimist Club's celebration not only acknowledges the Teachers of the Year but also highlights the profound impact educators have on shaping the future through their passion and commitment to education.
