Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen is reminding Alabama voters of crucial deadlines for absentee voting ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

According to Allen, county absentee election managers must receive mail-in absentee ballot applications no later than Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. For those opting to return absentee ballot applications in person, the deadline is Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.

Absentee ballots returned in-person must reach the county absentee election manager by the close of business on the day prior to the election, which falls on March 4, 2024. Meanwhile, absentee ballots sent by mail must be received no later than noon on Election Day, scheduled for March 5, 2024.

To participate in the voting process, all voters are required to present a valid form of photo identification, whether voting at their designated polling place or via absentee ballot.
