A tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning in Foley as emergency responders rushed to a residential apartment responding to reports of a woman who had fallen down a flight of stairs. Despite initial suspicions circulating on social media regarding potential foul play, authorities have tentatively ruled the woman's death as accidental according to a release from the Foley Police Department.

In the early hours of Tuesday, Feb. 27, emergency services were alerted to a situation at the Alsion Pointe residential apartments on County Road 20 in Foley. Personnel from Foley’s Police and Fire Department arrived at the scene, discovering a 63-year-old woman lying unconscious at the bottom of a flight of stairs within the apartment. Despite immediate efforts to revive her, the woman showed no signs of responsiveness and was pronounced dead on-site.

Authorities, including the Foley Police Department, the Gulf Shores Police Department's Crime Scene Unit and the Baldwin County Coroner's Office, collaborated to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The findings of teh investigation suggest no indication of foul play in the woman's fall. The victim's body will undergo examination by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
