Run, walk or stroll: Fairhope Sunset Rotary Club's 0.5k promises fun for all

Dust off your running shoes.

Meet your mates at the starting line.

It is time for the Fairhope Sunset Rotary Club's annual race. The best part of this fundraiser? There is no training necessary.

The fifth-annual 0.5k – The Race for the Rest of Us has become a hilarious Fairhope tradition that benefits local charities.

Sunset Rotary Club member Steve Weaver said the race typically attracts approximately 250 participants. Will you be one of them?

The racecourse takes athletes and wannabe athletes through downtown Fairhope. In past years, the course has included snack stops, instead of water, which have served doughnuts and sausages. Why not sign up to see what the course will hold this year?

Registration is open until the day of the race, Saturday, Jan. 13. The race kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at Bay Breeze Café and includes a street party with live music and food, and drinks will be available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded for individual and group costumes.

Register at Eventbrite.com. Race registration is $45.
