In the 2023 Alabama Kids Count Data Book, Baldwin County ranks as the seventh-best county for the overall health of children in Alabama, slipping from the previous year's ranking at fourth place.
It's important to highlight that with the transition to the ACAP Summative Tests, comparisons of overall rankings should not be made with those from years prior to 2021, which used the Scantron assessment tool, according to the 2023 Data Book.
However, though Baldwin County scored within the top 10, the state itself ranked 45th out of 50 in overall child well-being.
